| Gloria Toti Joined Trinity Staff: November of 2001 Areas of Ministry: Women’s Ministry Family: Carl Toti (we married August 12, 1989). We have two teenage boys – Nathan and Jonathan. Lexis our dog and Uno our snake. Saved(when and where): At the age of 23, I was invited to a Christian single’s retreat. I was just getting by as a young adult…no real purpose for life. When I left Glorietta, I knew that my life would no longer be the same. I had experienced God’s unfailing love and forgiveness, and I was now on mission to share that love. By the way, Carl Toti was the young minister in charge that weekend. Education: High School Victory Bible School Previous Line(s) of Work: Pharmacy Tech/Medical Transcription One of the Things I Find Most Fascinating: The accounts I read about in my bible of average individuals positioning themselves to be used of God in extraordinary ways. FAVORITE Book: My Bible Food: Mexican Snack Food: Granny Smith Apples Movies: The Passion of the Christ Musical Artists: Chris Tomlin Time of Day: When Carl and the boys return from work and school Season: Spring Place in the World: Worshiping God with other believers Place to Pray: Kneeling, sitting or bowing at the foot of my bed Recreational Activities/Hobbies: Interacting with our boys – basketball, ping-pong, riding bikes or playing board games. I also love reading and studying God’s word. Scripture: Joshua 1:8 Sports Team: I really don’t have one, but since I love Carl so much, I guess I will say Cowboys Sport: Fishing for souls LEAST FAVORITE Food: Pork Snack Food: Celery sticks Time of Day: 8:00 am – time to wash the dishes by myself - yuk Season: Winter Place in the World: Getting stuck in traffic Best Thing Someone Said to You: “Enjoy the season that you are in with your boys, invest in them during this season - soon your season will change - and you will be given opportunity to fulfill all the other desires in your heart.” A minister interrupted his service, looked over at me and spoke these amazing words. I couldn’t believe that God would go to that extent to let me know that he had seen my struggle – a conflicted heart that sincerely wanted to do so much more for Him. It just wasn’t time. Life Motto: ‘If you keep doing what you keep doing, you‘ll keep getting what you’ve been getting.’ We are never to remain the same – we must keep growing – we must have the intention of leaving it all on the field. We are on the winning team! Three People I’d Like to Meet: Beth Moore, Marilyn Hickey, Mother Teresa My Hero: Carl Toti – My Knight in Shining Armor One of My Greatest Experiences with God: I remember the day when God supernaturally gave me understanding for His Word. I remember grasping the realization that the people I was reading about were faced with opportunities and choices, just like I was. Some made the right choices and some did not. The dysfunction I read about was shocking – real life – real people – and a real God. I was drawn to study the lives of those who anchored themselves to God - they trusted Him through thick and thin. Some started out with little faith but continued growing until they became world changers. Most People Don’t Know This About Me: I used to be rather shy and had no confidence to speak or read in public. |
