We are expanding the Kidsplace Ministry Team and would like to formally invite you to join us as we strive to create an exciting environment that empowers children to live out God-Centered lives, to inspire children to be active Christ followers, and to create opportunities for parents to spiritually lead their families.  However, I’m sure you have some questions.  There are no bad questions, and this is our attempt to answer the ones we hear most often.


Where should I be serving?

There are many different ways to get involved in the Children’s areas at Trinity Church.  Provided for you below are job descriptions for areas where we are expanding.  Look them over, and see if there is something that interest you.  Would you prefer leading small groups of 3rd grade girls, or leading 4 year olds?  Do you like working with opinionated 5th grade boys, or would you prefer rocking babies to sleep after giving them a bottle?  Everyone is different, and there are tons of areas where we are expanding our volunteer team.

Nursery & Early Childhood Kidsplace
These are the environments where Children's Ministry to babies through Kindergarten children happen.  We are located in the Education I and Education II buildings.  It's an exciting age to be involved with, as they are for the very first time discovering the wonder of God and how much he loves them.

Early Childhood Classroom Leader
The classroom leader works alongside an assistant to lead the children through the specific activities and lesson material for each lesson.  The classroom leader intiates all dialogue and communication with children in the classroom.  All lesson materials will be provided to the classroom leader.  The classrooms available are multiple environments for 3 year olds, 4 year olds, and 5 & 6 year olds.
 
Nursery Childcare Team
The nursery team creates the spiritual atmosphere in the room as well as normal nursery responsiblities; which include diaper changing, feeding children, cleaning nursery areas, and simply holding babies as necessary.  The Nursery childcare team works in the baby rooms, in the two Walkers rooms, and with the multiple 2 year old environments.

 

Elementary Kidsplace
The Elementary environment is in the Lower Floor area of Trinity Church, directly under the Main Sanctuary.  We minister to kids between 1st through 5th grades, and work out of a small group, and large group format.

  
 Kidsplace Small Group Leader
The Small Group Leader (SGL) works with grade and gender specific small group environments.  The SGL will work to build meaningful relationships with the children, and lead children through the application of the themes taught in the large group setting.  They must possess an ability to communicate in a small group, relational format.  All small group materials, and small group activities will be provided in advance of any responsibilites.

Kidsplace Large Group Stage Leader
The stage leaders hosts the media-driven children's production, and leads all large-group activities.  They will be performing in front of large groups of students for skits, object lessons, and all large-group related events.  They must possess a commanding stage presence, and express confidence leading large groups of Elementary students.  Training will be provided, and scripts and materials are always provided in advance.
 
Kidsplace Audio/Visual Support
The Kidsplace support team assists in the overall management of the Saturday night and Sunday morning services.  The support team is available to help with lights, sound, video, and will be trained in all areas of responsibility
 

What if I've never done this before?

Not everyone has experience leading children, and if you’re one of these people then have no fear!  In fact, sometimes it's preferred that you have no preconceived notions about how things ‘should’ be.  We will teach you everything you need to know.  We will let you sit and observe before taking on any major responsibilities and we will also give you materials to help you know what to do, and will be there to hold your hand and answer any questions you might have along the way.  We will even work hard to find the answers to any questions you might have.  Promise!

What materials do I get as a leader?

We will give you a new Experience book every 8 weeks, as we transition between series and themes in our Early Childhood and Elementary environments.  If you lose it, we will even replace it for free.  Free is good, right?

Why am I being asked to commit for every week?

We have found the those leaders willing to make an every week commitment are much more influential in the life of the children.  Continuity is one of the most important things we can bring to children, and by serving every week we allow children and their families to know who their teachers are.  We have also found that leaders that work every week are more committed, more involved, and teach with more enthusiasm than the teacher that only comes every few weeks.  There are over 4 service times each weekend at Trinity Church, so we believe you can more than easily find a worship service to attend.

What if I'm involved in other areas and can't make a long-term commitment?

First of all, let me say that serving in Children's ministry is never a life-long commitment.  But if you are still fearful of making a commitment to teach every week, or for some reason Saturday night or Sunday morning don't work for your schedule; then we have other options. 

Additional Children's Ministry Opportunities

Wednesday Night Boys and Girls Programs
Missionettes and Royal Rangers are expanding their ministry team!  Missionettes is a girl-only program where girls are taught Biblical truths every week, and are given the opportunity to earn merit awards on a monthly basis.  Royal Rangers is a ministry that works to motivate boys spiritually through Bible Study, memorization, devotional, and are strengtened physically by an advanced awards-based weekly program. 
 
Nursery Childcare Team Substitute
Could you work when the need arrives?  Would you be willing to fill in when our regular teachers are out for the weekend?  If you are, then we have the perfect place for you!  Come work in our newborn thorugh 2 year old areas on a once-per-month basis.
 
Children's Ministry Guest Experiences
We are always looking for leaders to help at the various check-in locations around Trinity Church.  We need assistance in the Lower Floor during both services to help children check-in using our electronic systems.  We also need assistance at our visitor check-in areas, and greeters at our doors.  The special Guest Experiences servants, are only needed the the 10 minutes before and after service times.  So, you could concievably serve during our busiest times, and still make it to your life group or Main Worship service!  Awesome, right?
