The average student scores approximately two grade levels above the currently assigned grade level on his/her Stanford Achievement Test.

In a structured, nurturing environment students with different learning styles are able to achieve academic success through the following programs: Language Retraining, Alternative Instructional Methods, and Transitional First Grade.

Academic Assessment

GRADING

Student achievement in academics and character growth is reported each six weeks through report cards.  In addition, two parent conferences are scheduled annually. Parents may inquire at any time about the academic progress of their child.

Preschool

Preschool parents receive 3 written evaluations in October, March, and the end of the year.  Progress reports are sent home at the end of school.

Kindergarten - First Grade

Kindergarten and first grade students are given detailed task and character report cards.

Second - Sixth Grade

Grades two - six are given percentage grades according to the following distribution:

        A =  90-100

        B =  80-89

        C =  75-79

        D =  70-74

        F =  69 and below

Students in Language Retraining will receive progress reports each six weeks.  The format of Alphabetic Phonics therapy does not lend itself to traditional letter grades.  Test results of pre and post testing using the Woodcock Reading Mastery Test will be attached to the perm card at the completion of therapy. No letter grade will be given for the class the student misses due to Language Retraining.
